Not necessarily, Jerry. The SB-401 did not come standard with a set of
heterodyne oscillator crystals. You had to hook it up to an SB-301 (or
300 or 303) receiver for it to work. Heathkit sold an accessory crystal
pack that you could install in those sockets to enable it to operate
independently. Yours just doesn't have that pack installed. If you
have a SB-series receiver you're all set. If not, you'll need some
crystals.
