I know what you mean, but I've found I actually need early, middle, and 
late RCA tube manuals on the shelf.  As tubes went out of favor or were 
perceived to be obsolete apparently they would drop the detailed specs 
and only have a base diagram.  If I ran into that problem for a 
particular tube in a particular manual,  I'd pull out an earlier 
edition and there'd be the specs, charts, etc. I needed.
