[Heathkit] Heat shrink gun

They have been around since before heat shrink was invented. I just got tired of "borrowing" my wife's hair dryer to shrink the tubing. Besides, the heat gun works considerably faster and draws less current. Normally I only have to use heat shrink on one or two connections at a time. But, I had a project for a client that required working on several Jones type connectors. Using a hair dryer on that many connections would have taken some time. Then the Harbor Freight flyer came with the $10 heat gun. Since there is a Harbor Freight store about 5 miles from my house I drove over and got the gun.

Harbor Freight has had these for some time. However, the "half price" was the thing that caught my eye.

These are hardly "new". Maybe just new for Harbor Freight.

We've been using them in R/C aircraft for decades. We shrink the mylar coverings put out by numerous companies. I couldn't tell you what I paid for it over ten years ago, but it does heat shrink VERY well.
