Decades ago I wanted a foot switch changeover.  I made a frame of sorts
out of wood and mounted a push-button switch thereon.  It worked for an
unremembered length of time until the stomping did in the switch.  No
matter.  I had another.

I wonder how an automotive dimmer switch would have worked.

Ah, the ingenuity of an impoverished teen ager.
