The SB-313 is the hollow state version of the SB-310. Same relationship as
the SB-303 and SB-300/301. The 313 & 310 are SWL versions with some of the
best SWL calibration available at the time. Many of us used these and
others like the in the late 60s and on. While I was using my S-38E and
SX-99, there were 5 310s that I knew of in my hometown of about 15,000
people when I was in college in the later 1960s. These radios filled a nice
niche for people.

Another reason from an old Popular Electronics mag is they were made is
because they were a cheap variation of the equivalent ham-band only radios.
Let's see, two for near the price of one and a broader market.

I have been looking for good cosmetic and reasonable electronic specimens of
both the 313 & 310 for several years. I had a 310 in the 70s. Always meant
to get a license but when not flying, we couldn't practice on the carriers
in 'Nam and the engineering career and related travel continue to get in the
way. Maybe soon.
