I have an SB-620 Scanalyzer hooked up to an SB-303.
I have aligned the SB-620 as per manual.
All tubes are good.
SB-620 is working fine.
I need to find out from anyone using this combo if they get good vertical
deflection with an S6 or lower signal.
It seems at S6 signal and Pip Gain control full clockwise I only see about
1/4 inch vertical deflection or a signal peak on SSB of between 30 and 40 on
the vertical scale of the SB-620.
Is this normal response?
I used as, suggested by Heathkit, a coupling cap of 8pF taken off the drain
of the second IF.
Should I use a higher pF cap?
Coax cable used in SB-303 was RG-174U and from RCA jack of SB-303 to SB-620
is 6ft of RG-59U.
I tried shorter cable from SB-620 to SB-303, 3 feet, but it made no
difference.
I get good deflection, all the way off top of scope with Pip Gain control at
about 10 o'clock on 40 meter and a signal of S10.
If anyone has a setup like mine please share information with me.
It may be that it is just the way it is.
I can live with it if that is so.
Thanks in advance,
Dan/N4VET
