One thing that hasn't been mentioned about frequency jumping are the
chassis ground connections in the *entire* VFO.  Loosen all the
chassis ground connections, one at a time, and retighten the screws.
I have also soldered a ground wire to the chassis, and routed it
through all the chassis ground connections.  This helps a lot.  As
mentioned in another post, re-establish the ground connections for the
tuning cap, and the coil shield.
