[Heathkit] HW-101 low output on 40

Hi All-

I have a HW-101 which is giving me fits. Problem is low output on 40 meters. I've traced the problem to the 2nd xmit mixer/driver grid tank circuit. If I leave the shield off, I can get almost 100 watts out.

 If I install the shield, power drops to 50 watts or less.

This is a really tricky one - I've already done all the usual stuff you think of - checking component values, (unsoldered a lot of silver micas in there!), checking all tube voltages, even comparing RF voltages to a known good rig. The shields between boards are soldered properly in the right places.

Yes, I have seen (and tried) the 'low output on 40' SB - no change there.

All coils tune properly - resonance occurs as expected.
