Thanks for sharing your thoughts. They are quite general in many areas. Would you
elaborate on the below statements?
1. What leads you to say that problems with soldering in SB transceivers is an "old-ham's
saw"?
2. Why do you state that acid core solder is an "urban legend"? Do you think that acid core
solder is fine to use on electronics?
I could ask more but my intent is not to pick your essay apart.
I own a very nice SB-100 and an SB-102. They are the only ones I've ever had my hands on
so any criticisims I could make about them would hardly be authorative. It would be more of a
rant and that would be fine as long as I identified it as such. Heck, some of the rants on this
reflector can be entertaining. If, however, I made statements about the quality or nature of SB
transceivers based on my very small sample, I might make serious errors that I'm sure others
on this reflector would be more than happy to correct (right guys?).
