Fern,

I have been using Heathkit tuners for many years
I have 2040's, 2060, and the 2060A. all are fine tuners.
The SA-2060 is a fine tuner, it has about 250pf of
capacitance on each side of a 28uh inductor in a
T configuration.
The only difference in the 2060 and the 2060A other
than color is in the antenna switching, as far as the
impedance matching capability they are identical.
When assembled properly you will have a hard time
finding a better tuner at any price. Just look at the
plate spacing on the variable capacitors, then look at
what is being sold today, Heath rated those variables
at about 3000 Volts, by today's standards it would be
a lot more.
As for pricing, expect to pay up to about $350.00 for
a very nice SA-2060A, and depending on condition
you might find one for less, just make sure you look it
over good and check for rocket scientist's modifications
because there are a lot of tuners that some folks
thought they had the ability to improve on.
If you get a good 2060 or 2060A you will have a tuner
that will tune about any REAL antenna from 10 to 160
meters and will most likely out live you.
