[Heathkit] SB-610 Scope as receiving monitor

Depends on what you want to look at and how you want to do it. The 620
can scan a range, either side of the center frequency, to view signals.
i.e. It's a panadapter, or as they call it "scan analyzer" and it not an
accurate spectrum analyzer. Unlike the 610, it's connected before the
first IF. Again, not highly accurate, but also has the "cute" appeal. And
useful for locating signals that aren't quite in the passband of the
receiver. The 610 is designed to connect after the last IF; basically to
view the signal as it enters the detector. Sort of allows you to view the
signal before the detector, AVC, and audio circuitry massage it. The most
useful function on the 610 is monitoring the transmitter output. It's
also useful to sent up adjustments when using an exciter and linear
amplifier.
