The standard CO2 can (often referred to as an aircan) sold for airbrushes is 
9oz. It doesnt take long to exhaust them.
Paint ball gun CO2 cans are 20oz and adaptors are available for airbrush 
hose threads. They are also refillable.

FWIW - I use an airbrush and a CO2 tank like is used for soft drink mixes.
I'm not sure what a tank costs anymore (this one dates back a couple
decades) but refills are very cheap at an industrial gas supply.  No
compressor noise.  It takes a little more time to paint a panel but then I
have the advantage of fine adjustment of droplet size, rate, and mix.  And I
am not limited to to the colors in a spray can.

One handy thing that I found when painting aluminum is direct-to-metal
paints.  They can be custom mixed and adhere well.  YMMV
