Yes Joe. I sure did.

Here's what I've found.
Take a cue tip and put almost anything on it and the rubbing will make
the pencil marks lighter. Some things will even work a bit better and
almost remove the mark completely. But nothing so far has removed the
mark and left the aluminum looking good.

Take an aluminum chassis that has had pencil marks on it for years. An
eraser or brass brush will remove the mark, but it changes the look of
the aluminum that actually looks worse than the mark. Once one makes
the chassis look different, then the "whole chassis" needs to be rubbed
or changed too. Getting to the chassis under parts, up next to tube
sockets, around transformers, coils, capacitors, etc, is almost
impossible. Somewhere it's going to look bad.

I wonder if there is something to "cover up the mark" that looks like
the old aluminum. Like gray fingernail polish. Or take a paint that can
be applied with a cue tip or very small paint brush.

thanks for the email. Bob

PS the link below was suggested by Glenn Edmondson, KI4QLJ, for
something that I have NOT tried yet. He feels it will do the job.
I plan to try it.
