I disagree! While in your local area this may be true, here in the Southeast
we have a very active AM group with nets on 3880 and 3885. Tuesday,
Wednesday and Thursday usually finds several guys on and they will talk and
use rigs with 100 or less watts. I use my DX60B most nights.
Also some activity on 7290 in the afternoons by some real nice chaps. Since
VOA left 7290 it is open in the evenings, though most fellow have gone to 80
meters, and I do not here much activity.
