You could built an attenuator and dissipate the Ranger RF as heat, or
just run the 6146 plate voltage off the low voltage supply or ER (Dec.
2000, page 25) had a circuit with a handful of components to make the
screen voltage variable. Screen voltage variable is nice since now you
can "adjust" the amount a RF input into the linear and hence, control the
linear RF output.
