Hi Dave,
The SB-220 will do great on AM and your 25 watts is about all you would 
want to use to drive it on AM.  My one piece of advice would be to 
monitor your signal with a scope or station monitor to be sure you are 
not over modulating.  You'll love AM and the 990 should sound great!
