[Heathkit] sb-301 dial

Hello gang:
                     l have quite a bit of dust in and around my dial on my
SB-301 receiver, l've tried blowing it with compressd air but to no avail.
                     No space to get a cue tip down there.
The dust seems to be on the plastic windows, not so much the actual dial.
                     l know this seems trivial, but on my 401 transmitter,
the dial is nice and black the way it should be.
                     Anybody have any tips on cleaning this  ?
