It is fairly easy to solder nichrome. Use plumbers liquid flux which is
actually a diluted hydrochloric acid. Muriatic acid may also work which is
also a diluted form of hydrochloric. Crimp a lug on to add strength.
Be sure to use a solder with a melting point well below the expected
temperature when in use. "REAL" silver solder works well.
