Great radio...used to run it mobile. Kept my feet warm in the winter. Puts
out 500 watts so watch it during tuning up. Should be plenty of info around
on the Internet.

Subject: [Heathkit] Not Heathkit
Hi to the group,
I have come by a an old Galaxy GT-550, VFO, power supply and Mobil power
supply. Does anyone know anything about this rig. Is it worth re-storing?
Does anyone know of a website with info (I have done the usual Google
search). I do have the original manual with circuit diagrams. At the
moment the radio receives badly with no output.
I would like to restore it, as it is a shame to scrap it and lose a little
history, I don't even know if this was a good radio in it's day.
I know this is not a Heathkit, but I know people here do have a lot of
knowledge about the old boat anchors:)
Any help or pointers would be great,
Mike K6BR
