Hello everyone, this is my first post. I just bought a DX-100 transmitter
which is all there and in decent cosmetic shape and expect to take both
tech. and general licenses soon, also got a nice old Astatic mic on a little
stand. I haven't powered this up yet, what precautions should I take beside
the obvious testing of the tubes and checking the circuitry (it is supposed
to work although I don't know how long it has been). Change the filter caps?
Is the old 100 watt light bulb trick still an OK way to check them to see if
they work?. I have a manual with it. I've been into boatanchors and consoles
for a long time and have had some electronic training in the past but have
never owned a transmitter. Any advice would be appreciated,
