[Heathkit] Heathkit SB 220 and SB 201 amperage draws

A friend in another state has a problem with using his SB 200 amp.  He has a
IC 765 transceiver and Butternut 80 to 10 vertical.  With the transceiver
directly to the vertical he has good SWR (below 1.5 on the bands).  With the
amp in the line the SWR climbs to 3 to 1.

I have used SB 220's in the past but have never owned the SB-200.  Does the
200 have tuned inputs?
It seems tthere is a mismatch between the transceiver and the amp.  The coax
checks OK and I asked him to borrow another amp to see if it duplicates the
problem. He has used the amp with other transceivers
and transmitters/receivers with success.

Is this a mismatch at the amp or what?
