[Heathkit] Good idea...really!

This is exactly what I do! I have bought several DX-20
rigs, disassembled them, polished and buffed the chases, gotten new
caps and resistors and carefully followed the instructions to
re-build the rig. Of course new wire was also used and in the end, a
"new" DX-20 appeared and if the case needs repainting I do that
too...great fun. To date, 2 DX-20 transmitters and one DX-40 have
arisen as "newer". If you like to build and don't mind the
de-soldering it's great fun and easy to do while being very fulfilling.

Hmmmm..... I have an HX-30 and companion HA-20 that would make a nice
winter's project.
They are sitting in the storage closet and haven't been turned on in years.
They along with the
SB-301 w/AMECO 6 mtr coverter got me 44 states and four countries in a year.
