It depends on the rig I am working on. I generally take my time. And, of 
course, if I have to repaint the cases, it takes even longer.

For the VF-1s, without redoing the cases, it takes about 8 hours of non-
steady work. I generally do a bit, then put it down to do other things, 
then come back to it, etc.

For the DX-35, I generally take two days, not including the case.

It is easy and fun, and I am under no stress about time when doing it. I 
just take the time I need.

Remember, that in rebuilding, if there is a circuit board involved, you 
most often do not need to completely desolder it. In any case, you have 
to be careful when desoldering a circuit board. However, I most 
certainly do check every component on a circuit board.

For those rigs without a circuit board like the DX series transmitters, it 
is easier.
