Nope. Factored for inflation, it went for less than the new price. I
graduated from highschool in 1964. A coke was 15 cents, a corvette
stingray was $4,000. I earned $1.20/hour at the gas station.

Watch a few episodes of the Antiques Roadshow on PBS, some incredible
ugly and useless junque fetches big bucks.

That HW-101 is a piece of mid-20th century technology that cannot be
duplicated at any price.

In my back room, I have several interesting radios, a Signal/One CX7A,
an SB-104A, SB-303's.

I love working on these, cleaning them, replacing the bad caps, etc.

I bought them as basket cases, "this radio is guaranteed broken, if it
starts to work within two weeks, return for a full refund."

I'm gradually returning them to service. Like I said, it's fun.

I built several kits in the 1960's and had a good time doing it.
