GM Grant,
As usual, you are correct. I might even trade my SX-88 for a couple of high
end kits. :o)

Oh, I don't think that's the case at all.
It's a matter of where you want to put your loose change. If I had enough
loose change, I'd enjoy nothing better than finding AND building an HW-101
or SB-102 or SB-220, etc. (with a few updated parts in the process). It
would be a trip in time better than anything you could get on a sugar cube.
Heck, I'd be happy (maybe happier) with something as mundane as an unbuilt
AR-3, DX-20 or DX-40.
It's really no different than spending a fortune on a KW-1, or a nice set of
Gold Dust Twins, or a Johnson KW, or whatever. Except in the case of
unbuilt kits, it has nothing to do with the purchase price or the resale
value of the box when your done -- it's all about the process.
I'd happily trade my CCA/E KWS-1 -- maybe more -- for an unbuilt and
unopened SB-102. Offers? :-)
