Well, unless it is a small bistro in NYC, most concerts need to be
amplified.
Last fall it was "Madame Butterfly" at the Met, but I think it was
amplified. Two years ago at a Cole Porter revue in London, the orchestra
was not amplified. (the actors were)
James Taylor at the Felt Forum the year before, was amplified, but I was in
the third row so you could hear him direct.
Loggins and Messina at Jones Beach last summer was also amplified,
but you are correct it has been a lot of years since the Allman Bros at the
Fillmore East.
Hi-end, yes, oxygen free speaker cables and "line conditioners", no......
Driv'in down the highway, all windows open and 250 watts of Bose audio
play'in "Nashville Cats" is great, so is the Nano.
