Jim and All-

I am a strong supporter and have been one for sometime
now, as an Elmer. Many of us in any of these groups
who are subscribers can point to one or more persons
who have strongly influenced the paths of our pass
times. I am certainly no acception being a "seasoned"
(hopefully with the correct combination of spices and
herbs!-HI, HI!) in electronics, Amateur Radio,
communications, collecting and restoration. It's been
a real Blessing for me for near 40 years now. I feel
an obligation and responsibility like many of us to
pass this wonderful wealth of information onto others.
That is certainly the main justification of great
groups like this one.

Thanks for you honest thoughts Jim.

Lately, at our New Mexico Radio Collectors Club
meetings in Albuquerque, I have seen many classic
stereo HI-FI equipment at our auction for extremely
inexpensive prices (almost no one wanted to bid on
them). For example, at our June meeting auction I
obtained an solid state Allied Radio AM-FM stereo
tuner/amplifier for a minimum bid of one dollar! Yes,
it does work. I also got a Panasonic SX-202 AM-FM
stereo solid state tuner amplifier for $1.50. It also
works well. Why? Not to collect for myself, but to get
some inexpensive speakers for them both and let
someone else experience the great sound reproduction
without spending megabucks. As I have always said, why
not recycle and reuse this excellent equipment. If
seeing and listening can make someone else a believer
who previously was not we have accomplished our
purpose.
