First of all, Heath did not make an HG-108 VFO. They
did make the HG-10B which is identical to the HG-10
except for some cosmetic changes. The HG-10B
definitely covers 6 and 2 meters (well the 8 MHz
frequency that is multiplied).
The HG-10 and HG-10B are fairly stable when run from a
power supply that is not part of the transmitter.
Also, to avoid chirp you need to let the VFO run
constantly when the transmitter is in the transmit
position. Do NOT key the VFO on CW.
If you run into an HG-10 or HG-10B that has a cracked
dial drum (many do have this problem) I do make
replacement drums. See the Zcomco website the URL of
which is listed at the end of this message.

Is the HG-108 vfo better than the earlier HG-10 vfo? I
believe that the HG-10 convers the 6 and 2 meter bands
while the HG-108 does not cover those two bands.
