[Heathkit] off topic - black/decker versapak charger

Hi all,
Does anyone have info about the innards of a Black & Decker Versapak 2-unit charger?  I m trying to identify the 2 resistors on the board.  Color code looks like red-violet-gold-gold OR red-violet-brown-gold (hard to believe they would be 0.27 ohms at 1/2 watt, but the brown color is almost indistinguishable from the gold).  Took 'em out, measured over 1 megohm each, must have something wrong somewhere.  Any help appreciated.
Some connection toHeathkit: the battery runs a power screwdriver that I use to sometimes undo Heathkit case screws.
