[Heathkit] Astron power supply question???

Hi Dan;
I think you are concerned over nothing. .17 volts is not excessive. You
will lose some in the wiring to the radio anyway. The meters are not that
accurate. Unless you measure both supplies under load with the same
meter, you don't really know. Then again, you could do like me and move
the voltage control pot to the front panel. Sometimes it is desirable to
see what a radio does under higher or lower voltage. Just install the
same size pot and knob on the front panel. Remove the internal pot and
run wires from where the internal pot was installed, to the new front
panel pot. I do this for my RV power supply so I can control the battery
charging rate. You need a diode for this function, also. Good luck.
