Does this happen on all bands or just one?
Have you cleaned the relay contacts (both relays
including the one that is inside the final amplifier
cage)?
Tighten ALL of the machine screws, nuts, etc., that
are in the rig. All of the grounds in the unit are
made through these. Over the years they do work loose
and/or build up corrosion. Retightening them
eliminates all sorts of problems in boat anchor
equipment.
Check the screen voltage on the final amplifier tubes.
