All:
I'm thinking about further modifying a modified AT-1.
I could try and patch up some of the hole some
previous owner had punched into the chassis and on the
panel but instead, I'm thinking about doing the
following:
-Getting that dumb iron vane meter and replacing it
with a more nice looking Triplett or Simpson classic
square D'arsonval meter of similar vintage.
-Punching out the holes to accomodate toggle switches
in place of those unreliable slide switches.
-Maybe (just maybe) ditching the meter switch and put
in its place a pilot lamp and dedicating the meter to
only read plate current.
I'd like to have an AT-1 made up to what I think will
be an ideal rig. Normally, I would like to have an
original Stancor 10P (which is of similar styling) but
can't afford the crazy prices these old gems are going
for. Modifying a modded AT-1 seems like the next best
choice. What do you think? Thanks.
Cal, N6KYR/8
