[Heathkit] hw-2036a hum

Howdy all,

Have just been advised by my listeners that this rig transmits a "hum" on
top of the speech audio.  It's higher than 60 Hz, present when running on
battery power, and no difference whether the PL tones are on or off.  I also
hear a low level tone in the receive audio.  Is there a known failure mode
like this in this radio?  I am the original owner/builder, it's worked like
a champ for 20 years.  Any hints appreciated!
