What is incredible is this signal is being heard pretty much coast to coast, although at varying levels, which may be dependant upon the variations in antennas and equipment.

Like others, I killed power to the house (running my 706 on a car battery I keep for backup) with zero effect on the signal. I even killed, reluctantly, my two battery operated clocks, so have to reset them, darn it! I killed the UPS, too. One never knows.

I too ran it across a scope. Very interesting signal, for sure. But taking into account that now, at 0550 (and for the past half hour or so) it is absolutely dead stable at S9 even, it is even more interesting. Not a hint or trace of QSB, as there was just over an hour ago.

Still, switching to the Gap Titan, it drops to about an S2, though no longer with any QSB. Either this signal is from space (a geosynchronous satellite) or it is being echo'ed by dozens of transmitters across the nation.

And I have no neighbors. So it isn't something in a neighbor's house. I am, though, having moderate and steady rain, and it is since the rain started harder that the signal has become dead stable in strength. Before, with light rain, there was QSB.

This is also being followed on Q&A on QRZ.COM.

I'm going to shut down shortly. Will check it again tomorrow.

We should perhaps notify ARRL's Intruder Watch?
