Actually, the switch on the HP-23 series (excluding
the "plain" version) is ONE of the AC control
switches. It has to be in either the 300 volt or the
250 volt position for the power supply to work. When
it is in the center the AC to the power supply is
turned off.
Basically, it is in series with the AC switch in the
unit. Both switches have to be in the "on" position
for the power supply to work.

switch, the AC is turned on/off from a pair of pins at
the 11 pin connector. Then with the switch you mention
you set the level of the LV (= low voltage) out of the
power supply.
