The standard remedy for static charged meter faces is:
Apply a drop of dishwashing detergent with the fingertip, rubbing it
gently
over the entire meter face, but excluding the zero adjust screw. Then
remove
the excess with a slightly water-dampened soft cloth or tissue. Problem
will
not reappear for years!
