[Heathkit] AT-1 Question

I have been using the AT-1 with a Johnson 275w antenna tuner.
I never needed to modify the AT-1 in any way.
It loads to the specified current on all bands with the Johnson tuner.
The tuner provides the necessary harmonic reduction.
I believe the Heath AC-1 is basically for end fed random length antennas?
It would be better to replicate the Johnson link coupled design that is
found in the league handbooks. This design can be used with coax,
balanced line and end fed wire antennas.
