Hi Paul,

>the problem stems from people assuming that everyone will do it "their
>way". people are afraid to ask "what if ups denies the claim" "you are the
>shipper will you refund my money if ups denies YOUR claim" will you double
>box?" gentlemen, would you hand $1000 to a person in a parking lot and
>"wait while i return with your watch"?. why would anyone send money to a
>stranger and not protect yourself ? i have never had problems with ups
>because the shipper and i have always gone to great lengths prior to me
>sending money, to cover ALL OF THE "WHAT IFS" and what HE will do if
>things go wrong. ask up front. no surprises on the back end. ups has
>always paid claims when they have damage items in a properly packed double
>box. AND AND AND. i always take items to ups OPEN , ask them to inspect
>and ok the packing, and i also get the inspectors signature directly at
>ups. not a ups store or drop shipper. regards paul w8jn

I'm replying to the list because my experience is the same as
yours. I've found that most screw-ups originate on the shippers end
(no offense intended Glen) and it's not UPS's fault. My claim was paid no
problem. Only one in 13 years. People do not take enough care
to protect themselves and that's the long and short of it.

Thanks!!
