Hi Don;

I think you mean an SO-239. I urge you not to do this. Please don't
modify a boat anchor and reduce it's value. This was a common
modification back in those days. It is hard to find some models with the
original jack. I have read where the RCA phono plugs are a better match
to 50 ohms than a PL-259 / SO-239. Please use an adapter such as Radio
Shack's 278-250 and 278-120, or make up a short jumper from RG-58 with a
RCA phono plug on one end and a PL-259 w / UG-175 and a PL-258 barrel.
