Duane,  I certainly understand your issue.  Regardless, an ellipsis mark consists of three spaces periods.  Such a mark is listed in various writer's reference manuals, and could be used to mark some deleted text from an otherwise word-for-word quotation.  Less formally, the ellipsis mark is used in a variety of ways.

I am sure you already knew this, of course, for anyone writing "Frogzilla" (or is it "Frogzila"?) must be an accomplished and clever writer!

Why not tell the list who the software publisher is, and tell us their telephone/fax/e-mail/Website so that we can help you, individually but en masse, with a call or a note or a fax admonishing the software deficiency and asking for a revision to be made available at once?
