I think I goofed...... I've been looking for a new manual type high watt
antenna tuner. My rig has a built-in tuner for barefoot use but I have a
500 watt amplifier and on two bands I need to utilize an outboard tuner and
not the one in the rig itself.

I found a like new SA-2060A listed on the net today and made araingements to
purchase it. I had read reviews on eHam that these are very desirable
tuners.

On the way home tonoght I mentioned the purchase to an OM and he said I
goofed. I assumed that the "Bypass" position on the antenna switch meant
that it was a "through" position for use on bands when the tuner is not
desired to be in-line. He tells me that the bypass is really a seperate
coax connection for a dummy load and that if I use the tuner it will need to
always be in-line even on the bands where I do not need a tuner.... so I'll
have to tune every band wether necessary or not. Is that correct ? If
so.... poop.... anyone need a like new SA-2060A ?
