A couple hundred plus years ago, a Scottish history professor named of
Alexander Tyler wrote that democracies only exist for a couple hundred
years. He said they always have the same life-cycle: from bondage to
spiritual faith; from spiritual faith to great courage; from courage to
liberty; from liberty to abundance, from abundance to complacency;
from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back
into bondage.

I tell ya, we need more people like this one old boy that went to my church.
The preacher was desrcibing Hell and all its torture and pestilence and
misery. Very graphically, too. So pretty soon this old geezer, Cyrus Van
Der Welp, gets up and says, "there cain't be no such a place! The people
wouldn't stand fer it!,"

73,
Tom
