[Heathkit] sb-303

Just got a sb-303 and it has a few weird problems, maybe they are all =
connected. the pto tunes fine from 0 to about 300 and then for about 50 =
kc it loses receive and goes into a loud (30 over 9 on S-meter) static, =
go past 350 and the receive returns and then repeats the static at  =
about 400 to about 450. somewhere in between all this in a few spots, I =
get a full s-meter carrier like a calibrator but it is for sure not the =
calibrator!  Also at random the s-meter bulb goes 3 times brightness and =
the other 2 lamps go dead. This is temporary, In a short time the lamps =
go back to normal. Anybody got any ideas?  Dan
