[Heathkit] Heathkit] Blue corrosion

Bob -

I recently discovered, quite by accident, that CLR just washes that ugly
stuff away. Spray it on, let it bubble, and rinse it with lots of water.
Follow that up with an alcohol bath (to remove all the water and any
remaining residue) and let it dry. The contacts and springs will be
clean and shiny, minus any of the nickel that was eaten away by the
corrosion process.

Just one catch; there are several different recipes of CLR. Forget the
kitchen cleaning version - it does nothing for this problem. Get the one
designed to remove mineral scum from glass and porcelain. That's the
strongest mix.
