Different manufacturers made a sort of central lighting control unit. It
was a small tabletop unit and came with remote switches and would remotely
switch sockets, etc. I'd imagine that is what your switch was designed to
operate. Look on the switch and see if there are settings you can change
(like little rotary switches). If so, that'll ice the cake.
