[Heathkit] Heath/Zenith Item

Hi Guys, I've purchased a Condo that I'm refurbishing. In one of the baths 
there is a plastic box with a toggle switch  ( same as a regular wall 
switch). the logo on it shows "Heath/Zenith". It has a 9 v. battery in it. 
It does not operate any thing as far as I can tell.
Anybody have an idea what it's for!
