<< . . . burned out meter on my old AT-1. What can you do?
I decided to rewind the coil-got 1620 turns of very small
magnet wire. Can anyone give me an idea of the AWG of this wire? >>
Take the `bits' of meter to a gud motor rewinding shop and ask
the boss for a favor, have him `mike' a sample of the wire,
with a micrometer and a page in a book or a table (one page)
he can tell you the exact wire size you are looking for,
then buy a wad of it from him, (probably too small for him),
if he has it, pay him retail price for it. (Triple his wholesale price.)
You can get wire much smaller than AWG 28, I don't know where
just now, Radio Shack did carry such small wire years ago.
