HW-101 was my first HF rig years ago. After replacing the filter knob
TWICE, I came up with this solution: I found a chrome-plated lever
knob from a car stereo (the type that were typically used for balance,
treble, etc., concentric with the volume/tune shafts) that looked
robust but not too ostentatious. I trimmed the center hole until it
was _almost big enough for the Heath knob's metal insert, then pressed
the insert into the hole with a hot soldering iron. It worked like a
charm, looked decent, and I never had to replace it again.
