Hey, folks:


This seems like a really neat idea, and since HCRA typically sets up its FD site on Friday it should be pretty easy to implement:

Short version: this guy is proposing a “QRP Night” on the Friday evening before Field Day. Hams would get on the air with 5W or less for some casual contacts, and to test out their FD stations’ performance at QRP power before the insanity starts the next day.
