I looked at the video and thought it was good. Google does have the technology lead over others and there is merit in that, and there is always something new being presented. One drawback is that user names must be six characters which leaves out using many call signs which is why I do not have an account (yet)
Google concept: Good
User name issue: Workable

Just another idea to throw into the mix;
If you are looking to expand the options available to you in group activity
such as sharing photos, you may want to also review Google's buzz that is a
new part of their gmail.
http://www.google.com/buzz?hl=en
There is a quick video link there that gives a rundown on the features
available to you.
I think HCRA as a club should embrace these new technologies opening up for
social networking and mail groups. Think about it, ham radio was probably
one of the first mediums for social networking that was available to people
outside of their local communities.

Hey gang,
I've been bouncing around the idea of moving the HCRA email list over to a
Yahoo Group. Moving to Yahoo would give us additional features not available
at qth.net. These features would include attachments, pictures, files, etc.
Do you think these new features would be an worthy addition to the email
list?
I am looking for feedback, opinions, and comments - positive or negative -
about the change.
Whether or not we move the group it would really be nice if more of our 100+
members made more use of the list. It is a fantastic platform for technical
help, club activity announcements, tales of successes/challenges and more.
The value of the list goes up geometrically by the number of actual posters.
So don't sit on the side lines, chime in and add to the chatter. The more,
the merrier.
And a good way to start - let the list know what you think about a move to
Yahoo!
'73.
Jim
